New TRR 332 PI, Ricardo Grieshaber-Bouyer receives ERC Starting Grant

Prof. Dr. Ricardo Grieshaber-Bouyer, Professor of Clinical Systems Immunology at FAU and physician at the Department of Medicine 3,  Rheumatology and Immunology at Universitätsklinikum Erlangen, has been awarded an ERC Starting Grant of €1.5 million over five years to find why do some patients with autoimmune diseases stay in remission after an immune reset while others relapse.

In his project NEUTRO-RESET, he turns the spotlight on neutrophils — the most abundant but long-overlooked cells of the innate immune system — asking how they interact with B and T cells and whether their activation states predict who responds to T-cell-based therapies. The goal is to know before treatment which patients will reach lasting, drug-free remission, and how to help those who won't.

Ricardo Grieshaber-Bouyer is a new principal investigator in our second funding period, and we are very proud of this success.

Congratulations!
